How to Play

Play Bubble Pop online for free. Bubble Pop is an 80-stage match 3 bubble popping game. Make long matches to earn stars or create special bubbles, reach the level goals in under a minute, and use coins to purchase power ups. This game is harder than it looks as levels have a 60 second time limit. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

Tap anywhere on the game loading screen to bring up the welcome screen.
Select the blue button in the center of the game’s welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
- Initially only the first level is accessible.
- Levels are unlocked sequentially.
- Your web browser automatically saves your game progress including beat levels and level star ratings.
- The welcome screen has a sound control button in the upper right corner & a game developer button at the bottom center.

    - Use your mouse left click button to select a bubble and scroll along in any direction connecting to adjacent bubbles. Release to complete your set.
    - Touchscreen devices
      - Tap a bubble on the screen with a finger and drag your finger around the level to select matching bubbles.
      - Controls & indicators
        
        Across the top the game shows how many seconds you have left, how many of each item type you have matched & how many matches are required, the level number, the current level star rating and a pause button.
        
        At the bottom the game shows your coin savings and how many of each power up item you have remaining.
        
        The level select screen shows the star rating you earned on each level.
        
        Game Play
        Levels
        This game has 80 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
        You can replay prior beat levels at any point in time to try to earn a higher star rating.
        Each level gives you 1 minute to beat it. If you reach all the level goals with time remaining the playing field matches with bubble coins you can collect.
        The level goals are shown at the top center of the level.
        You can need to match at least 15 of 2 or 3 different item types on a level.
        Another level may require matching a certain bubble type so many times and setting off a number of bombs.
        Some levels require you to use a wildcard or bomb to break open frozen bubbles in addition to the other level goals.
        Some levels may have unbreakable wood blocks in the playing field.
        
        Star ratings
        
        Each time you make a match of 6 or more of the same item type in a row it adds to your star rating on that level.
        
        You can get a maximum of 3 stars on each level.
        
        Matching items
        
        You can match any adjacent bubbles in any direction as long as they can be reached directly via a line segment, the bubbles contain the same item, and no other bubbles block the path.
        
        Matches must be 3 or more in a row.
        
        When you make matches bubbles fill in upward from the bottom of the screen.
        
        As you make matches and progress through the game certain match quantities unlock powers.
        
        Matching 6 grants you one of the three stars needed to earn a perfect star rating on the level.
        
        Matching 5 gives you a bomb which blows up adjacent bubbles when clicked.
        
        Matching 4 creates a wildcard with an arrow. Match it as part of any set and it will shoot out a bubble destroying laser aligned with the arrow.
        
        Power ups
        
        Each time you unlock a power up you are given 3 of it.
        
        The clock at the bottom adds 10 seconds to your level timer. The clock is unlocked at the beginning of level 2 & is available for purchase for 100 coins each.
        
        The lightning bolt destroys 10 bubbles. This feature is available at the beginning of level 11 & is available for purchase for 150 coins each.
        
        The bomb places 5 explosive bombs inside the playing field. These bombs instantly detonate. This feature is available at the beginning of level 17 & is available for purchase for 200 coins each.
        
        Coins
        
        Each time you beat a level you earn 100 coins.
        
        If you have time remaining when you beat a level the remaining time gets converted to a field of coins you can collect.
        
        If you replay a level you already beat you can earn the extra time bonus coins but are not awarded the 100 coins again.
        
        Shop
        
        In the shop you can buy any of the 3 power ups and 5 different bubble types to replace the nautical theme.
        
        You earn
        
        Power ups cost 100 for the clock, 150 for the lightning, and 200 for the bomb.
        
        Your bubble options include fruits, sports, shapes, flowers, and animals. Pictures of each theme are shown below.
        
        Each of the other bubble types costs 1,000 coins.
        
        When you buy a bubble option upgrade it changes the theme of all the bubbles to the new bubble category.
        
        You can equip any of the unlocked skins any time you beat a level.
        
        You can only play one skin at a time, and all skins play the same other than aesthetic. It is recommended to save most of your coins for the power ups and purchase at most one skin.
        
        Strategy tips
        
        The level timer does not count down until after you select a piece.
        
        Wait until the bubbles settle and map out some of your strategy for the level before clicking on any.
        
        Try to make matches further down near the bottom of the level first as bubbles fill upward. If you make matches near the top early that may misalign some of the bubbles lower down the screen.
        
        Use other bubble types
        
        You can make star matches or create bombs & wildcard lasers with bubbles that are not part of the level goal so that you can move them out of the way.
        
        If you have a lot of time left and less than a 3-star rating you can use the remaining time to match other bubble types.
        
        Power bubbles are created at the end of strings of bubbles where the final bubble of the set was created, so select bubbles in the correct order to place the power bubble where you like it.
        
        As you get further into the game beating levels within a minute without using power ups gets quite challenging, so be willing to use multiple power ups on a single level if you get stuck.
        
        If you play a level & use power ups but fail you do not get those power ups back, so make sure if you use any that you use enough to guarantee victory.
        
        If you are on a level which has frozen pieces try to get rid of those immediately, as that will open up the playing field to make it easier to make other matches.
        
        Each time you play a level the arrangement of bubbles in the level is randomly changed. If you get a bad set or star off poorly you can pause the game and click on the restart level button to play it again.
        
        Target Audience
        
        The game is suited for players who like item matching games.
        
        The game has no adult themed content.
