How to Play

Play Cricket Hero online for free. Cricket Hero is a batting game where players try to score as many runs as they can before being bowled out three times. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

Click or tap anywhere on the load screen to begin the game.
- You can turn sounds on or off by clicking the music button in the lower left corner.
- Next to the music button there is a button for switching the game’s language between English (UK flag), Portuguese (Portugal flag), and Hindi (India flag).
- The game welcome screen also shows your most recent score along with your all time best score. These scores are automatically saved in your local web browser.

  - Playing
    - Time the pitch to hit the ball when it is parallel with you.
      - Some balls bounce, others slowly curve, and some are lightning quick fastballs.
      - There is no partial swing or check swing, only swing or no swing.
        If you miss the ball and are way too early you can swing again.
        
        Scoring
        
        Each ball you hit is usually worth a point.
        
        When a star shows up and you hit you may score 4 points.
        
        If you make 10 consecutive hits your batter gets hot and single hits are worth double points while you remain hot & a four can be worth six.
        
        The first miss while hot ends the hot streak.
        
        Avoid hitting bombs (cost you an out) and eggs (which obfuscate the screen during the next pitch).
        
        In some cases coins are pitched. Hitting them adds to your coin total, which can be converted to continues.
        
        Pitch Variations
        
        The pitch may pitch any of the following: ball, coin, egg, or bomb.
        
        Pitches may be fastballs, curveballs, wildly spinning vortex, or bouncing pitches.
        
        After 7 pitches the pitcher may pitch on the left or right side of the wicket.
        
        One circle will be solid while the other is dashed. Swing on the side of the solid circle.
        
        Be sure to swing on the side the pitch appears on by clicking or tapping on that side.
        
        Hit balls and coins. Coins do not score points but aid your ability to continue the game.
        
        Avoid hitting eggs and bombs.
        
        After around 20 screens the camera zooms in, which adjusts the bat timing.
        
        From then on the game can periodically zoom in or out.
        
        Outs
        
        The game starts with 3 lives.
        
        If you mistime a ball and it knocks the bail down that is an out.
        
        If you swing at a bomb and hit it that ends the game (no matter how many outs you have left).
        
        Periodically a player may appear floating in the background. Clicking on that gives you an extra out.
        
        End of game options
        
        At the end of the game there is a home button to bring up the game’s welcome screen.
        
        You can continue your current game if you have 10 or more coins, though a continue is good for only one more out & you can only continue once per game. If you have fewer than 10 coins when the game ends the button will be translucent.
        
        Game Controls
        
        Mouse
        
        Click to swing the bat when the timing is correct to hit the ball. Do not hit eggs or bombs.
        
        If there are click targets on both sides of the wicket click on the side the pitch is thrown toward.
        
        Touchscreen
        
        Use your finger like a mouse & tap on the swing target to hit the ball.
        
        Strategy
        
        This game is straightforward, so it is hard to give much strategic advice other than mentioning you should ensure both that what is being pitched is a ball and you have the swing timing correct.
        
        The screen in the background shows if the pitch is an egg or a bomb. If neither of these are revealed then the pitch is a ball or a coin you want to swing at.
        
        If the pitch is a vortex spin that will also show on the jumbotron.
        
        When there is a star if you manage to hit it you can score 4 runs.
        
        Extra balls
        
        If there is a guy floating in the background try not to click on him unless an egg or a bomb is pitched so you do not end up getting a strike by missing a pitch.
        
        If you are at or near your high score and have at least 10 coins you can continue to get an extra out.
        
        Restarting
        
        If you get off to a bad start you can click the pause button in the upper left corner and restart the game.
