How to Play

Play Water the Village online for free. Water the village is a pipe logic game where you plot out the plumbing of several houses. With a limited number of pipes, connect water mains to houses and houses to sewage drains. You must connect hot water and cold water sources to the correct locations. Sewage water can be treated and recycled into the potable water supply. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

On the welcome screen, select Start on the bottom left corner to begin.
Below the start button is the help button. Select this to learn about the game’s rules.
Select the social media buttons on the bottom right corner to share the game with your friends.
On the top right corner are the following buttons:
- The trophy button shows the score leaderboard.
- The sound button lets you toggle the game’s audio.
- Your web browser automatically saves your game progress and best scores.

    - Left click and drag to lay down pipes. You can begin laying pipe from source or destination.
    - Left click sections of pipe to remove them. Note that not every pipe can be removed.
    - Touchscreen devices
      - Tap and swipe on the screen with your fingers to lay down pipes.
      - Tap on a laid section of pipe to remove them.
      - Game Play
        Level selection
        Levels are unlocked in sequence. Only the first level is playable at the start of the game.
        You can replay all the levels you’ve played so far
        Interface
        The game’s options are all on the left side of the screen.
        Top left
        The topmost display shows the level’s number.
        Scoreboard: Shows your current score on the left and your best score for the level on the right
        Goals: Shows the number of houses you need to service. You must service all the houses in the level to clear it.
        Center left
        The center left shows the number of pipe segments available to you.
        Bottom left
        Hamburger menu button: Shows the game’s options
        Reset button: Starts the level all over again
        Sound button: Toggles the game’s audio
        Game basics
        Select and drag to create a network of pipes to connect houses and other pipes to the water main.
        You only have a limited number of pipe segments to create your pipe network.
        If you run out of a specific type of pipe, you can’t lay it down.
        It is crucial that you create a pipe layout that effectively
        If you want to correct your layout, select any section of pipe to remove it.
        Some parts cannot be removed; this is indicated by your cursor turning into a red wrench with an x on it.
        You can also remove timers from the system to make the water move faster. Do this only when your system is already secure.
        You have a limited number of seconds to lay the pipes before the water starts flowing.
        Once the water starts flowing, you have even less time to complete the pipe network.

        Water comes from 2 sources:
        A cold water main (blue)
        A hot water main (red)
        Water goes to 3 places in this game.
        Houses
        Sewage drains
        Another water main
        To complete the circuit, your pipes must form a system that links all the available pipes to their outflows.
        Earlier levels only have houses and mains as outflows, while later levels have sewage drains as outflows.
        You can’t loop water inside houses.
        Dirty water and clean water should not mix.
        Colored arrows
        These arrows indicate the place where pipes can be placed
        Blue arrows indicate cold water
        Red arrows indicate hot water
        Green arrows indicate sewage
        To work, the pipe carrying the water or sewage must link to the appropriate arrow.
        Levels
        You can get up to a 3-star rating on any level. After a level has been completed you can replay it any time.
        If you do not complete the level goals and waste a lot of water you can lose the level.
        You get an unlimited number of continues in this game.
        Level features
        Fan pumps
        Fan pumps make the water move faster.
        Junctures
        Junctures allow you to split the direction of the water into 2. These are critical for reaching multiple houses.
        Water flow slows down in a juncture, which could be beneficial when laying down complex pipe systems.
        Timers
        Timers stop the flow of water for 5 seconds. They resemble the timers found near the pipe mains.
        Nets
        Nets recycle sewage and turn it into clean water.
        Insulators and Sun heaters
        Sun heaters turn cool water into hot water.
        Insulators turn hot water into cool water.
        Metal blocks
        You cannot lay pipes down metal blocks.
        Metal blocks cannot be removed.
        Mixing water
        Some cold and hot water sources connect on a common pipe. When this happens, downstream water will be hot or cold depending on which water reached that portion of piping first, meaning on some levels you may have to open a warm water supply valve before opening the cold water supply valve.
        If sewage water connects with potable water that run of pipe becomes sewage until it reaches a treatment facility.
        Scoring
        You get 100 points for every length of pipe the water travels through.
        You also get 500 points for every segment of pipe you didn’t use.
        You receive bonus points if you remove the timer, based on the number of remaining seconds you have left.
        Target Audience
        The game is suited for people of all ages who like simple plumbing puzzle games.
        The game has no adult themed content.
